This olive grove is planted with over 1,500 olive trees (of the “Marteño” variety) some 17 years old, and 1,500 more 10 years old olive trees. Both offer a growing production, since an olive tree needs to reach an age of 20 to 30 years to offer its maximal productivity. This then lasts over a century.

The production presently exceeds 13 metric tons of olive oil, and is due to progressively duplicate within the forthcoming ten years. The olive grove is completed by a small orange grove, approximately 5,000 m² - 1¼ acre, producing annually some 15 metric tons of oranges of the “Navelina” variety.

The annual turnover reaches approximately € 40,000.-, and this olive grove is qualified to receive EU subsidies for the production of olive oil, about € 1,300.- p.a. In consideration of the young age of the olive grove, these amounts will grow.

The property is member of the local cooperative hosting the oil mill, and the present owner is highly experienced in the field of olive oil production and willing to share his expertise in marketing the oil, in the U.S.A. among other places.

The olive grove is provided with an automatic irrigation system fed by a well and a reservoir, legalised by the Guadalquivir Hydro Confederation. The electricity mains are connected to the grid through a substation and, in Andalusia, the electricity produced by the sun is an option to save some money.
