Appendix to the page V-1067
On the swimming pool, road and parking space sides, the ground floor is insulated with an additional expanded polystyrene layer. The high external walls are covered with natural stones, and the other external walls are provided with a special extra-strong nylon grid, maintained by a special adhesive and covered with synthetic rough-casting. This way, no wall tears are recognizable. All the windows and doors without bars are equipped with partly insulating armoured glass. The windows of the ground floor and of the summer kitchen are provided with blinds, partly motorized.
The garden is equipped with an automatic irrigation system. The rainwater is conveyed to the flower beds mainly from a tank, through a pump provided with filters.
The villa is supplied with three-phase 380 V. current. There are a common meter for all the house, and two intermediate meters for the apartment and the studio of the ground floor. The current supply is distributed to the various parts of the villa through approximately 25 circuits. The apartment and the studio of the ground floor have distinct circuits. The satellite dish is connected to the dining room and the living room of the main apartment, and the living rooms of both the ground floor apartments. An external lighting can be switched on and off from the main living room and the master bedroom.
There is one meter for all the villa. Intermediate meters for the swimming pool, the ground floor apartment and the studio can be installed. There are three external taps, as well as a shower (cold and warm water) beside the swimming pool. The four bathrooms are equipped with a thermostatic control valve.
On the roof, approximately 24 m² - 250 square feet solar panels supply hot water to a 500 liters - 110 U.K. gallons tank, as well as to a heat accumulator for the floor heating or, alternatively that of the swimming pool.
The hot water supply is carried out almost exclusively by the solar installation and the hot-water tank. In the event of lack of sun (after approximately three days), the principal heat pump takes care of the production of hot water.
In a technical room, two heat pumps are installed. The small one (1,5 kw.) supplements in case of need the solar panels for the floor heating. The main heat pump is used for air-conditioning and the winter heating. The ground floor apartment and studio each one are equipped with a heat pump, ensuring their own air-conditioning and heating, without having to use the main heat pump.
The swimming pool can be heated with solar energy from spring to autumn. In complement, the principal heat pump can also be used. From November to February, the heating of the swimming pool can be made difficult or even impossible, because of shorter sun hours, and because the swimming pool basin is not isolated from the ground.
A ventilation equipment is installed above the sauna. This device sucks the air from outdoors, filters it, heats it and injects it under the roof of the swimming pool, when this one is closed.
