Having been regularly travelling on the Costa Blanca as well as on the Costa Calida, someone has happened to ask me for a recommendation, a hint, about a hotel during the busy season or a restaurant with specific characteristics. Here, I gather some of these informations. I have no ambition to play the hotel guide or cuisine expert. I just testify.
April 4th, 2020, revision note: in 2002, when I started this page, there were very few or no “portals” offering hotels. Today everything has changed. So, I will only leave three addresses here. The first, in Jávea, is a sea facing hotel offering very affordable rates, and the second, in Benitachell or Poble Nou de Benitatxell, is a pension with incredibly low price, if nothing has changed. The third is a hotel near (25 km - 15 M) Madrid offering excellent value for money.
On another hand, the mentioned prices are purely indicative. They may vary according to the seasons and the inflation. Eventually, on the contrary of a well spread opinion, the job of real estate webmaster allows to earn someone's life, but doesn't make him specially rich. For this reason, my hotels and restaurants are OK and clean (I am fifty, and do not feel attracted by military barracks - I have never been - nor youth hotels any more), but they are no luxury hotels neither.
A good hotel in the Denia area: Hotel Les Rotes in Denia Las Rotas, slightly over my budget, but I loved it.
A hotel in Javea: hotel Miramar on the sea font, very affordable.
A pension in Benitachell: pension Arco Iris an absolute bargain.
A hotel in Aguilas, near Lorca: Hotel El Paso in Aguilas, just as good as in Lorca, but much cheaper than Lorca.
A hotel near Madrid, hotel Ciudad de Navalcarnero 28 km. - 17 M. from the city-centre in Madrid, a much better rate than the hotels in Madrid..
