Internet? just a fashion …
In 1999, yours truly went around different real estate agencies that I knew for their seriousness on the Spanish coast, offering them to distribute their catalogue on the web. All the people I met, without exception, looked at me with a slightly amused smile, screwing their forefinger on the temple (they did not do so in front of me, but they thought it so much that it could be seen): “you want to sell houses on the internet, Mr Gaillard? Come on, it is'nt serious; internet, it's the latest gadget of technology, for the flagada fans, a fashion, it'll soon be over, you will see”. We have seen.
In those times, a fairly expensive internet was not in every home, real estate agencies were sending colour prints by post to customers of whom they had the address, through expensive periodic mailings, and these prints expired as soon as the property was sold. Making the bet that the customer 1000 or 2000 kilometres - 1000 miles away, rather than make the trip, would prefer to go to the local library or web-cafe to find a constantly updated color catalogue whose volume was not limited by the price of four-colour printing, I insisted, and some real estate agents ended up trusting me.
Everything fine then, but today, I am suffering from a frequent affection: the age limit. In Spain, this condition is complicated by the fact that, with few exceptions, the pensioner is prohibited from working. Hence the need for a choice. And as one friend said, “to make a choice is to give up something else”.
This is the point now. For the time being, no choice has been made: I am swiss, hence slow. And this is also the reason why this page has remained empty during the last months.
Meanwhile, I am happy to have been able to help hundreds of buyers; once again, thank you for your visit, wishing you a lot of pleasure while flipping this Spanish real estate catalogue.
