Spanish real estate: has the recovery begun?
Yes, it has and we are facing an increasing number of visits of our Spanish properties. For this reason, it is important to agree an appointment (contact page) early enough, at least one week in advance.
I also experience more and more difficulties to answer all your e-mails within my “24 hours at most” delay. I therefore highly recommend a visit to the FAQ: if you find your answer there, you will get it faster.
Prices: will they fall further ?
Sorry, no, game over. With regard to coastal recreational residences, prices began to fall in May 2004. In large Spanish towns, the property prices started to decline in spring 2008 until the end of 2014. Since then, in town, they went up again, some 6 to 8% p.a. On the coast, prices are at their lowest level. Only exceptionally do we receive notification of an increase, but it becomes more and more difficult to get a discount by trying to negotiate the price: the sellers feel that they have finished losing and that with a some patience, they could even recover a small part of the lost ground.
Now, let's be clear, the catalogue still offers bargains, and I can not imagine that, in the coming years, Spanish property prices will climb again the same way as we have lived between 1996 and 2004.
